LCCA affirms that all of creation falls under the authority of Christ, including the realm of education. Every subject is taught from a distinctly Christian worldview, as we reject any division between the sacred and the secular and acknowledge Christ’s lordship over all areas of study. In this sense, we are Christian.
LCCA holds that when all work is done for the glory of God, individuals are motivated to give their very best. For this reason, we aim to joyfully and creatively encourage students to reach their God-given potential. We seek to foster a culture in which learning is valued and mediocrity is unacceptable. By drawing excellence out of every student, LCCA prepares them for acceptance into the colleges of their choosing. In this sense, we are rigorous.
LCCA values the rich heritage of Western civilization and endeavors to develop in students an appreciation for the great literature and arts throughout history. Our curriculum is shaped by the classical liberal arts tradition, emphasizing who the student becomes rather than simply what the student knows. Grounded in the framework of the trivium—recognizing students’ natural capacities for learning at various developmental stages—students are taught not only subject matter, but also how to reason clearly and communicate effectively. In this sense, we are classical.
LCCA believes that learning is ultimately meaningless unless it is brought into obedience to Christ. We desire to see both the thinking and actions of our students shaped by the mind of Christ through the grace and power of the gospel. While families and churches hold primary responsibility for discipleship, the significant time students spend in school requires the school to share in that mission. LCCA seeks to cultivate a genuine passion for Christ in every student. In this sense, we are transformative.
LCCA affirms that parents are ultimately accountable to God for the guidance and discipleship of their children. We seek to serve as a partner to parents, assisting them in fulfilling the biblical call to raise their children in the instruction and discipline of the Lord.
Liberty Christian Classical Academy was founded on the conviction that Christian education should shape students into disciples of Christ. LCCA is committed to applying the gospel in the life of every student and has adopted the historic Apostles’ Creed and Nicene Creed—confessions shared by Christians worldwide—as foundational elements of its Statement of Faith. LCCA recognizes that these creeds were created to address particular issues facing the early church and do not address certain doctrines held by many Christians, but are cherished by the leadership of Liberty Christian Classical Academy.
Accordingly, the following evangelical statement of faith has been adopted and must be affirmed by all directors, faculty, staff, and at least one parent of each student. It is imperative that all persons employed by LCCA in any capacity or who serve as volunteers, agree to and abide by our Statement of Faith, both in public and in private.
Liberty Christian Classical Academy is a Christian school that does not teach a specific denominational set of beliefs. The beliefs outlined below form the foundation of LCCA and represent the core doctrines of Christianity that will be taught openly, consistently, and unapologetically at every grade level. These doctrines are considered primary at LCCA, while families and local churches retain final authority regarding a student’s denominational beliefs.
The Inspired Word of God: We believe the Holy Scriptures of the Old and New Testament to be the inspired Word of God. The Scriptures are infallible; and therefore, are the final authority for faith and lifestyle. The sixty-six books of the Old and New Testament are the complete and divine revelation of God to Man. (1Timothy 3:16&17; 2 Peter 1:21; 1Thessalonians 2:13)
The One True God: We believe in the one true, eternal and unchangeable God; the creator of heaven, earth, and mankind. In the Holy Scriptures, He has revealed Himself as Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. (Genesis 1:1; Genesis 1:27; John 1:1 & 14; Duet. 6:4; 2 Samuel 7:22; Psalms 83:18 & 86:10; Isaiah 44:6; Mark 12:29; 1 Corinthians 8:4 and Romans 8:14-16.)
The Person and Work of Christ:
The Work of the Holy Spirit:
The Church:
Total Depravity of Man: We believe that man was created in the image and likeness of God, but that in Adam’s sin, all humanity fell from God; inherited a sinful nature, and became alienated from God. Thus, man is totally depraved and of himself utterly unable to remedy his lost condition. (Genesis 1:26-27; Romans 3:2222-23; 5:12, 6:23; Ephesians 1:7; 2:1-3; 4:17-19)
Salvation: We believe that salvation is the gift of God brought to man by grace and received by personal faith and confession in the Lord Jesus Christ, whose precious blood was shed on Calvary for the forgiveness of our sins. (John 1:12; Ephesians 1:7; 2:8-10; 1 Peter 1:18-19; 1 John 1:9)
Lifestyle:
The Second Advent of Christ:
The Eternal State:
The Personality of Satan: We believe that Satan is a literal, fallen angelic being who is the enemy of God and man. He will be eternally punished in the Lake of Fire. (Job1:6-7; Isaiah 14:12-17; Matthew 25:41; Revelation 20:10)
Creation: We believe that God created the universe, including mankind in six literal 24 hour days. We reject the theory of evolution and any other theories which contradict this truth. (Genesis 1 & 2; Exodus 20:11)
Institutions of Authority: We believe that God has ordained and created all authority consisting of three basic institutions: 1) the home, 2) the church, 3) the state. Every person is subject to these authorities, but all (including the authorities themselves) are answerable to God and governed by His Word. God has given each institution specific Biblical responsibilities and balanced those responsibilities with understanding that no institution has the right to infringe upon the other. (Romans 13:1-7; Ephesians 5:22-24; Hebrews 13:17; 1 Peter 2:13-14)
Human Sexuality:
Sanctity of Life:
Essentially, our Statement of Faith is best summarized in the five solas of the Reformation:
Sola Fide - By faith alone
Sola Gratia - By grace alone
Solo Christo - By Christ alone
Sola Scriptura - On the Word of God alone
Soli Deo Gloria - To God alone be the glory
